Getting started...and getting to the end|

There is more than one way to write a story, and don't let anyone tell you differently. In fact, there are probably as many ways to write as there are writers — the trick is to learn what works for you. The following examples illustrate what I have learned about myself as a writer, insight gained over the course of many years and many projects (fanfic as well as published novels and short stories). This is not a guide for you to follow, rather it is a spur for you to examine your own habits and patterns, to ask yourself how you write and thus how you can write better.
